In November we announced the plans for next year's subscriptions. We wanted to write out a post with all the important details from that video in order to clear up any confusion and hopefully answer any questions you may have. 

For several years we've offered various subscriptions, most recently the bimonthly No. 13 club which focused on our story, literature, and Legal Tender decks. In 2023 we released some absolute stunners including Flower of Fire, Chinese Legal Tender, Oakeshott, The Odyssey, Overbite, and The 12 Days of Christmas. The other bimonthly subscription was our Vintage Reimagined Series. This year brought us both Atlantis and Cibola, the Kings Wild Crayon Deck, Eternal Order of the Fez, Tourists, and Battle Axe. And of course, we continued our long-standing Table Players Deck with the monthly subscription bringing Volumes 25-36 to light. 

For years these subscriptions have been the backbone of Kings Wild and have brought to life some of the most popular fan favorites! For those of you who have been around since the beginning, we thank you for your continued support, and for those of you just joining us we are excited for what's next! 

As of January 2024, we are discontinuing both the No. 13 Club and Vintage Reimagined Subscriptions. Going forward (at least for right now) the only subscription we will have will be the Gilded Table Players Subscription -- we will no longer have a Standard Tier of Table Players. 

Your first question is most likely: "Why on earth are you getting rid of so many subscriptions." The honest answer is that we feel as though the monthly subscriptions have run their course (for now). There are many instances where we felt as though we were not able to do all the things we wanted to do with certain month's decks simply because of the constant deadline of getting the next deck complete. We had so many ideas to elevate the stories of these decks that we simply had to leave them on the back burner in order to stay on schedule (mostly). What we want to focus on is bringing to life the best, most creative, most diverse decks imaginable. We're not going to stop producing decks, instead, we're going to focus on producing decks with even more story, even more editions, and even more creative elements that will make your card collection even more enviable. 

So as of January 1, the only subscription available will be the Gilded Table Players. We're also increasing the number of slots from 200, to 450.

Now for the logistics.

If you're already a subscriber to the Gilded Table Players, and you want to continue your subscription into 2024...you don't need to do anything. Your subscription and your edition numbers will automatically carry over to the new year. If you want to add a Gilded Table Players subscription or subscribe for the first time, you can do that right now at https://www.kwsubscriptions.com.

All other subscriptions (No. 13 STD, LTD, GLD; Vintage Reminded STD, GLD; and STD Table Players) will automatically be canceled at the end of this year. There's nothing you need to do to cancel, we'll take care of that on our end. 

So what's next?

As previously mentioned, we are not closing shop, we are not going to stop designing and producing playing cards. Instead, we are going to pour all our energy into creating the World's....nay the Universe's Finest Playing Cards. We will be bringing everything we have to the table with even more diversity and creative offerings we haven't even dreamt up yet. 

We also want to grow our audience, bringing the stories to even more card collectors and enthusiasts. This means that a majority (not all) of our releases will be moving to the Kickstarter model of release. This allows us to not only have better control of production, but will allow our designs to be seen on a much larger scale. 

We will be launching our first Kickstarter of 2024 in January! In collaboration with the Frank Frazetta Art Museum, we will be producing playing cards that will feature the stunning artwork of one of Jackson's artistic heroes. Be on the lookout for the official announcement and schedule of release.
